With so many people calling in to our phone conference sessions and wanting to participate, we would like to share with you some tips for effective participation. By following the tips, you and your peers can enjoy a better opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas.
Tips for effective participation include:
- set yourself up in a quiet environment free from background distractions;
- mute your microphone when you are not speaking so that others that are speaking can be heard loud and clearly;
- remember to unmute your microphone when you would like to speak(!);
- remember that you can use the chat function to write comments or questions to the speaker – rather than interrupting someone mid-sentence to ask a question, you can write it in the chat so that it is not forgotten and can be discusses by all;
- use the chat function to ask to speak next – this helps the moderator to know who would like to speak next.
